The background

Three Ireland and Samsung wanted to bring families closer together during the holiday season, even if they couldn’t physically be in the same space. So we created a restaurant that allowed loved ones to be in two places at once.

The execution

The Connected Restaurant launched in both Dublin and Sydney and combined the latest, most high-speed technology with an intimate dining experience. Two halves of each table in the restaurant were separated by thousands of miles, yet it felt as if the families were eating a three-course meal together in the same space.

A custom photo booth, complete with strategically angled cameras and microphones, captured the moment, so the loved ones could have a memento of the special occasion to share and keep forever.

To make the experience feel authentic, countless trials were performed to make sure every second lined up. But in the end, the idea of connecting families through the power of technology was executed beautifully.
